For Cantillon Vigneronne muscat grapes are blended with around 1.5 year old lambic. The fructose, which abounds in these white grapes, makes the beer mellower than any other product of the brewery. This way to produce fruit lambic traditionally came from the area a little east of Brussels in the valley of the Yssche, and was called "Grapes Lambic". The spontaneous fermentation, the ageing in the barrels for several years and the addition of grapes make it a distant cousin of certain white wines.
