Belgium, the undisputed beer paradise!
The Belgians are world famous for quite a few things! Chocolates, waffles, road racing, Manneken Pis, ... and beer! With a population smaller than Tokyo and its size even not bigger than Kanto, Belgium succeeds in having a whopping 430 breweries offering over 1,600 different beers. Add to this the fact that the UNESCO recognized the Belgian beer culture as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016, and you can understand that Belgium is the world's undisputed beer paradise!
Belgian beer is much more than just “beer”; it is about the greatest diversity of original beer styles you can find on the planet where modern and innovative techniques are blended with century old brewing traditions.
The Belgian Beer Weekend
The ‘Belgian Beer Weekend’ is the finest occasion to explore the Belgian beer culture and traditionally takes place the first weekend of September at the world renowned ‘Grand Place’ in Brussels.
The event made its debut in Japan in 2010 as a 3 days event with 15,000 visitors. Today the Belgian Beer Weekend is taking place at Japan's major metropolitan areas and has grown into one of Japan's leading outdoor events with more than 1.5 million visitors over the past 14 years. In 2024 we are celebrating our 15th anniversary!
The Belgian Beer Weekend is about sharing great beer experiences and stories with friends. It is also that different place to make new friends, just hang around, grab a concert, enjoy crunchy Belgian fries, or really work on your Belgian beer mastery. That’s why we’ve gone to great lengths to create that unique BBW experience.
