solh

Formed in 2023, solh is a Nagoya-based quartet consisting of rika (saxophone), Masaya Yamazaki (keyboard), Kodai Hojo (bass), and drummer/leader Harutaka Sakita.
Each member is active across a wide range of genres, including jazz, funk, pop, R&B, hip hop, and gospel, which they fuse in a cross-genre approach. Incorporating both acoustic and electric elements, they pursue a unique hybrid sound.
In live performances, they base their music on the structural beauty of gospel while emphasizing the improvisation of jazz and the energy of funk. By changing arrangements each time, they develop performances that repeat “creation and destruction.” At the same time, they incorporate the catchiness of pop and hip hop, aiming to create music that can be enjoyed even by listeners who are not familiar with instrumental music.
Since 2024, they have signed a distribution agreement with Friendship. and have been releasing their music on various streaming platforms.
